Pickling isn’t just for cucumbers! Cucumbers might be the classic, but all kinds of veggies (and fruits!) can be pickled to add some tang, crunch, or even spice to your plate. Join Chris Coburn, Founder and Chief Pickler at Seattle Pickle Company, for this class using local, seasonal veggies to pickle your own jar. While you sip wine and nosh on snacks (including, you guessed it, pickles!), we’ll teach you how to make a basic vinegar brine, as well as how to combine brine with different flavors to create unique flavor combinations. We’ll demonstrate the water bath canning method step-by-step so you can see how easy it is to repeat the process right in your own kitchen. You’ll leave with a jar of pickles along with the confidence to pickle at home!
