our WineMaking Process

An Introduction

Jody and Rebecca’s collaborative efforts and diverse backgrounds in winemaking offer some of the boldest, richest, and spiciest red wines out there. Historically we have been red wine makers known best for our Malbec, but we offer so much more including a selection of sought-after Southern Rhône varietals, a healthy line-up of Bordeaux varietals, a stunning seasonal Rosé, and some savory white wines perfect for food pairings

Step 1

We classify our artisan wines as Seattle-Made and Washington-Grown. Made with carefully selected and hand-nurtured grapes from Eastern Washington, our long-standing history as winemakers allows us to work with growers that have proven consistency and take great pride in tending the land.

Step 2

Once picked, the grapes make their journey across the Cascades to our urban winery for crush. After crushing, we ferment, press, barrel, and age everything right here in Seattle.

Step 3

After our wines have aged in either barrel or steel, it is time for bottling! You’ll often find a group of amazing people down at the winery helping us with the assembly line of filling, bottling, and labeling before we take them back into our temperature controlled warehouse for storage. Some wines need time to settle into their new containers, while some are ready to go sooner. Either way, it eventually makes its way back to the tasting room and your table.

Step 4

The hands-on nature of our work and preference for smalllot grapes from some of the top-growing vineyards in the state ensure that the wine you are drinking from any vintage is consistently excellent
