Rating: 89 Points
Maturity: 2010 - 2013
Elsom Cellars, a Woodinville-based boutique winery, has produced a first class 2007 Malbec (that contains 8.3% Merlot) that was aged for 22 months in French oak. Purple in color with an alluring perfume of pencil lead, mineral, smoked meat, white pepper, black cherry, and cassis, on the palate it has excellent volume, layered fruit, and good balance. This medium-long effort has plenty of immediate appeal as well as enough structure to blossom for another 2-3 years.
